[ She doesn't avoid the subject or dance around the truth of the matter like she does with some of the others. Like with Caroline, who she doesn't want to hurt. This is Sam, someone she trusts, someone who saw that dark early days. Someone who has helped her and been on her side.

So she tells him the truth, the sadness in those words stretching across their link, and she waits to see if he'll try to talk her out of it. Damon certainly will. ]
