BASIC INFORMATION
Name: Elena Gilbert
Canon: The Vampire Diaries
Age: 18

Elena is a Petrova doppelganger, and her blood has been and can be used in a variety of spells, as well as to transition werewolves into vampire hybrids. When Elena was 18, she died and was turned into a vampire against her will. Somehow, she survived to see her high school graduation, only to celebrate the momentous occasion by waking up in Silent Hill.
Fiercely loyal to her friends and family, she will do anything to keep them safe – she’s traded her freedom and life away, betrayed allies she'd made deals with, and put her own wants and needs after theirs. It doesn't matter if she and her friends argue, she always makes an effort to reconnect and repair any damage, no matter how much it takes, and she stands by them through thick, thin, and all manner of supernatural transformations and incidents. Elena isn't the type to give up - on people or seemingly hopeless situations, especially if it involves someone she loves. She'll follow every course of action possible, even if she has to do it on her own, and she won't stop looking for new possibilities if the first options don't work. She's also stubborn and won't take crap from anyone, or be bullied or told what to do, even by a powerful supernatural creature. She'll argue and fight back and dig her heels in no matter who she's up against.
Elena has a tendency to make bad choices, especially in dangerous situations that involve the safety and well-being of her friends and family. She will disregard her own safety and even sacrifice her own life without a second thought if she believes it to be in the best interest of her loved ones. While it is a strength that she cares deeply for people, sometimes she cares too deeply. When the people who mean the most to her die, she absolutely falls apart. Guilt is another thing that Elena feels deeply – for her part in the suffering of others, for the people she killed while her humanity was turned off, for being the only member of her family left alive. The list goes on and on, and it can be easy for people to use that guilt against her.
POWERS AND SKILLS
✦ VAMPIRE ABILITIES» ENHANCED ABILITIES, including super speed, strength, agility, senses, and durability.✦ VAMPIRE WEAKNESSES
in Silent Hill: these abilities will weaken the longer she is in Silent Hill.
» IMMORTALITY AND HEALING factor that saves her from most deaths.
in Silent Hill: she can still heal faster than humans, but it will take noticeably longer each time she is injured and the longer she is in SH. additionally, she will not recover from any death, but rather go through the usual game processes.
» HEIGHTENED EMOTIONS and emotional control that allows her to turn off her emotions like a switch.
in Silent Hill: she is unable to turn off her emotions.
» MIND CONTROL that allows her to, upon eye contact, control human minds and alter memories.
in Silent Hill: she will not be able to completely control other minds, but rather slightly influence thoughts or plant suggestions a la Jedi mind trick (with player permission).
» HEALING BLOOD that when ingested can heal most injuries in humans, but will also cause humans to turn into vampires upon death if the blood is still in their systems. This effect lasts 24 hours.
in Silent Hill: her blood can still cause humans to become vampires, but it will only double the rate of normal human healing for the 24 hour period. her blood's healing properties will become significantly less effective the more times an individual injests it; after 4 times, it will no longer have any effect.» SUNLIGHT will injure and burn upon prolonged exposure if she isn't wearing a Daylight Ring made of lapis lazuli and spelled by a witch.
» VERVAIN will harm and weaken her, and prevent others from being compelled if the herb is worn or ingested.
» FIRE, BEHEADING, AND A STAKE to the heart will kill her; technically any removal of the heart will do so.
» WEREWOLF VENOM will slowly poison and ultimately kill a vampire.
» AN INVITATION must be extended for a vampire to enter the home of a living human.
» KILLING ONE OF THE FIVE (magical vampire hunters) causes a vampire to be haunted by hallucinations to an extreme degree.
» THE DEATH OF THE ORIGINAL Vampire who sired Elena's bloodline dies, then she and every other vampire in the line will also die.
✦ DOPPELGANGER ABILITIES» THE BLOOD of a doppelganger is a source of magical power and often used in spells by witches. (Sometimes human doppelganger blood is specifically required.)
» A MYSTICAL CONNECTION that is inherently strong exists between doppelgangers.
PERMISSIONS
Physical Affection: Elena is a touchy-feely type of person with those she is close to; others may receive odd looks and other reactions depending on the type of affection, the situation, and their personal connection. Feel free to contact OOC to discuss!
Physical Violence: Violence is a-okay, but discussion for gory results please!
Romance/Relationships: Elena is head over heels in love with Damon, so other romantic relationships are only likely to happen with the right build-up. However, she would very much like to gather a large group of friends and found family.
Thread-jacking: Would prefer a heads-up, but will probably be fine.
Back-tagging: Always and forever.
Fourth-walling: With discussion.
Offensive Subjects/Triggers: Nothing offensive, but Elena may not deal well with matters concerning death, grief, and whether she has the right to still be 'alive' as a vampire. This is all canon, though, so bring it.
