RANK I, BASIC | Elena can manipulate the blood in one individual's body to force them to act in a way counter to their own wishes. This takes considerable effort on her part and cannot be sustained for a period longer than 60 seconds or used more than once per day, but while she uses this ability she can force someone to move their body in any way she desires - ie, halt an attacker, make a sentry shoot his fellow guard, enter their bio-encryption credentials, etc. Until she trains this ability, and especially if she is unsure of its use, the effects are tenuous and can be interrupted by interfering with Elena's focus in any way. At Rank I, this ability requires Elena to be within five feet of her target.
DRAWBACK | The drawbacks of this ability include severe nosebleeds and migraine for half an hour following its use, as well as the sensation of having an out-of-body experience. Elena feels as though she isn't actually in control of her own body for anywhere from an hour to four hours, depending on how long she used her ability.
RANK II, INTERMEDIATE | Elena can manipulate the blood in a small number of individuals' bodies to force them to act in ways counter to their wishes. This takes a moderate amount of effort on her part and can be sustained for up to two minutes. While she uses this ability, Elena can force up to three people to move their bodies in any way she desires, with the effects becoming more simple for each subsequent person she adds over the first. She can manipulate the first with a high degree of control and dexterity, even forcing them to fight for her, with less risk of losing control if she's interrupted. She can direct two people to perform uncomplicated functions (go here, flip this switch, etc), with slightly higher risk of losing control due to interruption, and three people she can only force to do basic things (don't talk, don't move). At Rank II, this ability requires Elena to be within ten feet of her target.

She can manipulate the first two people with a high degree of control and dexterity, even forcing them to fight for her, with no risk of losing control when interrupted. She can direct four people to perform uncomplicated functions (go here, flip this switch, etc), with slight risk of losing control due to interruption, and five people she can only force to do basic things (don't talk, don't move). At Rank III, this ability requires Elena to be within twenty feet of her target.

BROOD PERMISSIONS
Elena loves as easily as she breathes. The brood will be family to her unless they push her away, and she will do anything to keep them safe, including sacrificing her own life. Spoiler alert, this is her default state when it comes to the people she cares about, and she doesn't even try to hide those intentions.
She's in love with Damon, has been in love with him for months, and refuses to acknowledge just when she fell for him. Why? Because she was involved with his brother at the time. This conflict over her affections for both Salvatores will bleed into her thoughts for quite some time, until the point when she and Damon might have a solid, healthy relationship.
She blames herself for the people she loves dying. Her parents, Aunt Jenna, Uncle John, Alaric. All of them died in accidents or at the hands of people trying to hurt her, whether indirectly or not. This guilt weighs on her with every breath, as does the grief for each and every one of them.
She's a vampire, but she doesn't want to be one. She hates what she is, is terrified of hurting someone, of becoming a monster. She regularly considers how easy it would be to end her own life, and just as often wishes that she could, but she won't let herself really try because she needs to get back to her brother. That is her driving force now, to get back to Jeremy because she's all he has now. If he'll even accept her as she is now...
NEST PERMISSIONS
She's from a small town in Virginia and has a younger brother she loves dearly who is the only still-living member of her family. She's used to being surrounded by friends and people she cares about and who care about her, so not having personal connections to the Nest bothers her. She's scared of hurting someone, hates what she is, wants to be accepted, and is in love with Damon. She is in an almost perpetual state of grief, both for herself and loved ones lost. She regularly considers how easy it would be to end her own life, and just as often wishes that she could.
MENTAL LINK
Grief, so deep and dark it pulls you down like a current of water dragging you to the bottom of a lake. The lap of water at the surface of that lake, the distant sound of a crashing splash. Guilt, wrapping around your chest and squeezing tight, mingling with that grief in an indesribably heavy weight. The warmth of arms wrapped around you in a tight embrace. The coppery taste of blood on the back of the tongue, like the metallic tang of a penny. The insatiable hunger for more. A reflection of yourself, an identical face that has caused so much harm - a face you hate beyond words. The fresh scent of trees and air and open sky, the rush of wind as you run. PERMISSIONS
Physical Affection: Elena is a touchy-feely type of person with those she is close to; others may receive odd looks and other reactions depending on the type of affection, the situation, and their personal connection. Feel free to contact OOC to discuss!
Physical Violence: Violence is a-okay so long as no gory results are involved -- please discuss first for that.
Romance/Relationships: Elena isnot admitting she'sin love with Damon so other romantic relationships are unlikely to happen at this time, but she would very much like to gather a large group of friends and found family.
Thread-jacking: Would prefer a heads-up, but will probably be fine.
Back-tagging: Always and forever.
Fourth-walling: Depends on the situation, so let's talk about it first.
Offensive Subjects/Triggers: Nothing offensive, but Elena may not deal well with matters concerning death, grief, and whether she has the right to still be 'alive' as a vampire. This is all canon, though, so bring it.
